The Case of the Lost Piglet
Mama Piggy, Papa Pig and Baby Piggu lived happily in a tiny little house near a forest. Baby Piggu was five years old and wanted to camp out in the dark with his friends. But his parents were not allowing him as they thought he needed to grow a little more. Baby Piggu was very sad. This was his first opportunity to prove to his friends that he was not a baby any more.
That night he sat near the fireplace staring at the red hot fire. He was thinking, “Is there any way to join my friends?” Then suddenly his brain lit up. He said, “Yes! There is a way! I will pack up my stuff and leave when my papa and mama are not around.”
Next morning when Papa and Mama went to wake up Baby Piggu they were shocked to see only a pillow under the blanket. They searched around for Baby Piggu but found only a note on which Baby Piggu had written- “I go camp!”
Papa Pig and Mama Piggy ran towards the police station and complained. There was Mr. Hog watching news on T.V. and the news was about a dam about to collapse. Mama Piggy whispered into Papa pig’s ears, “Oh! That is where the kids have gone camping!”
Mama, Papa and Mr. Hog went to the campsite as fast as they could but there was no Baby Piggu there. Mama and Papa were worried. They started searching for Baby Piggu in the forest. They searched behind bushes, near ponds, under trees and inside the hollows in tree trunks.
In one of the hollows, Mr. Hog found a horrible creature staring at him. He was horrified. Then suddenly the creature jumped out at Mama Piggy. Mama Piggy screeched at the top of her voice but the creature wouldn’t let go. Then suddenly it said “Mama! I Piggu” Mama, Papa and Mr. Hog were surprised to find the muddy creature to be Baby Piggu. They asked Baby Piggu what had happened. Baby Piggu narrated the whole story.
Piggu, instead of going to the camp had got lost. He found himself scared as it was a dark foggy night. He started crying. After sometime, Piggu still crying went to sleep climbing inside a hollow tree. He was rudely awakened by a hooting sound. He ran out and fell into a muddy pond. Poor Piggu. He had become completely dirty and messy. But he had again climbed into the tree and fell asleep.
Hearing this story, Piggu’s parents were relieved that they had got him back and so they pampered the messy little piglet a lot. Mr. Hog got a special prize for finding the lost piglet. Mama Piggy, papa Pig, and Baby Piggu, lived happily ever after.
